Summer Sisters is a wonderful opportunity for the women of Parkway to get to know each other through different fun events, gatherings, and studies - and to invite others, some who may not be connected with Parkway or a home church, to join in on the fun!

CARDMAKING DIY

MATERIALS NEEDED: $10-$12 per person - All materials are included except adhesive. Bring your own refillable tape runner adhesive or purchase there for $8.
FULL DESCRIPTION: What better way to have cards ready for those special times than to take this class. During this time, you will create a variety of fun and beautiful cards using different ideas and techniques. By the end of the class you will have made six (6) cards that you'll be proud to send to family and friends. All materials will be included except for adhesive. Bring your favorite adhesive or we will have some to purchase for an additional $8.00. All classes are beginner friendly! (JULY IS CHRISTMAS CARD THEMED!)

PIES WITH PAM

RIVER TUBING FUN

MEETING DATE(S):  Wednesday, July 17 @10:30am (for an 11:00am departure)
LOCATION: James River Reeling & Rafting (265 Ferry Street in Scottsville, Va 24590)
MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • $30 per person (includes tax, tube, parking, and shuttle ride) check your keys in the office (do not bring your own tube) Must be 6 years of age or older, minors must have an adult with them. (if 25 or more sign up, price will reduce price by $3).  IMPORTANT:  Venmo @kendra-males or personal check to Kendra by 6/23/24, so she can register everyone as a group. That way everyone will be on the same shuttle bus and launch together down the river at the same time. If you want to register yourself after 6/23/24 do so @ www.reelingandrafting.com for the 11:00 am departure.

FULL DESCRIPTION: Float and Soak down 4 miles down the James River (2-4 hours, 3 hours is average) tubing run.

  • Arrive 30 minutes before departure, 30 people can ride in one shuttle, multiple shuttles can depart at our time (the more the merrier)
  • Wear: swimming attire, shoes (water or tennis shoes to be worn in the water, NO flip flops), sunscreen optional: hat, sunglasses, life jacket or PFD (your comfort level, water in the past has been slow and people did not wear)
  • In your car for after the float: change of clothes and shoes, towel, snacks or picnic lunch, water
  • There are hot showers if you would like to shower after the float, You can also rent a cooler for $10 (if you want to hydrate while floating, not necessary IMO, no glass containers)

FRUIT PICKIN' PALS

A PRAYING LIFE BOOK STUDY

MORNING COFFEE BREAK

BAKING DOUGH BREAD

MATERIALS NEEDED: Bring a pint size jar for the starter to take home and a large mixing bowl to make your bread.
FULL DESCRIPTION: I'd love to share my recipe for delicious homemade sourdough bread. We will walk through the steps together and you will go home with your starter, for next time, a loaf of bread ready to bake and a fully baked loaf ready to enjoy!! Max 10 ladies.


OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

We're excited about the possibility to meet needs & bless others. This year we will focus on a new outreach opportunity for each month. Stay tuned for more details about each ministry opportunity. We pray that you'll join us!

  • JUNE - Parkway Feeding Ministry
    We will collect blessing bag items June 9th and June 16th. We will deliver bags on Saturday, June 22. Women, meet the Feeding Ministry team at the Parking Lot beside Kid to Kid at Commonwealth Mall, @ 7:30 am to travel together to distribute downtown Richmond. Items you can donate include the following: 12 oz. Gatorades, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, travel size shampoo and conditioner, individual snacks, cooling cloths.
  • JULY - Worthdays
    We will be filling Worthday (Birthday) Boxes for children in foster care, including reusable duffle bags & personalized belongings. Look for specific information to come on how you can donate to these young people who often get little or nothing for their birthdays.
  • AUGUST - Honor Your Elders
    Join us as we minister compassion and Jesus' love to residences of a local nursing home. Details to be announced later.
