Mission Moseley Expansion

WHAT IS MISSION MOSELEY?

Mission Moseley is the ongoing effort of the Parkway Family to reach our neighbors and the nations with the gospel through the tenants of Pray, Give, Go, and Send.  This includes expanding our current Ministry Operations Center facilities to train, disciple, equip, and launch new missionaries and church planters.

WHAT IS THE MINSTRY OPERATIONS CENTER?

Our Ministry Operations Center is our campus and it’s facilities. It is where we, as real people, walk with Christ through corporate worship services, invite others into discipleship through our various ministries, small groups, and bible studies, and serve our body and the community together each week, and throughout the year, all with the goal of reaching our neighbors and the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In December of 2003 God provided Parkway with 37.5 acres, on which our current facilities were opened in 2006.

WHY EXPAND?
According to city-data.com, the population of Moseley, VA increased nearly 143% between 2010 and 2021! As the community around us continues to grow, we need physical space to invite others, make disciples, and send new mission partners and church planters to the ends of the Earth. Our campus is the epicenter for these activities!

WHY NOW?
Over the course of the last decade, many steps have taken place so that we would be well positioned to expand our facilities: reduction of our current debt, access to county water, expansion of the parking lot, and a previous approval of our proposed expansion footprint. With the cost of commercial building decreasing for the first time in several years, and the steady and consistent growth of our Parkway Family, we are prayerfully moving forward with the building and expansion process.

Pray – Give – Go – Send. These have been the 4 pillars of Mission Moseley during this past year. We celebrate the definitive progress of Mission Moseley in all its facets: our mission partners continue to push into the darkness in their respective harvest fields; the Parkway Family is engaging our neighbors and the nations through strategic local ministry opportunities, and short-term mission projects; the construction of the Ministry Operations Center (MOC) is rapidly progressing with steel being placed and roofing going on. These four actions are even more needed in this season!

We are just over one year in to our MOC Expansion project! As of the end of April the total given/paid/donated by the Parkway Family is $1,250,894.36!  We thank God for how He has shown His provision through YOU, the body at Parkway. The remainder of the  pledged commitments (to be given over the remaining two years) is $369,769.17. Our project total remains at $4,474,341 which means our long-term debt is projected to be nearly $3,200,000 beginning in March of 2026. While we have been blessed to be able to pay cash for some larger bills this month, we will close on construction financing in the coming days. Based on current projections we will need to make the first draw on this financing in June. Of course, we will continue to pay cash as long as possible. 

We also want to share that we remain committed to paying off the debt on current facilities. As of the end of April our mortgage balance is $618, 896.94. The Stewardship Team continues to monitor on behalf of the Parkway Family and evaluate how best to manage both the current debt and any potential new debt that may be incurred from the MOC expansion.
