Serve Areas of Service

At Parkway Baptist we encourage people to get involved in serving Christ. We offer many opportunities for you to use your God given talents and abilities by serving our community and each other.

Sunday Support

  • First Impressions

This team consists of greeters, whose primary job is to smile and make everyone feel welcome, and Welcome Center workers who provide some basic information to first-time guests. Requirements to serve include a smile and a willingness to serve at least one Sunday a month. Contact Wendy Morris at wmorris@parkwayfamily.org to sign up to serve.

  • Parking lot team

One’s initial impression of a church often starts in the parking lot. This team seeks to provide a friendly face and some general parking instructions as people enter the church campus. Teams serve once a month on a rotating basis. Jack Oliva at totnolivaboys@comcast.net to sign up or to get more information.

  • Sunday morning hosts

Some light refreshments and coffee are provided at our early services. Our hosts help with set-up and care of our refreshment area. Teams are needed to serve on a rotating basis. Contact the church office at 639-2236.

  • Parkway prayer partner

If you would like to be on a prayer team that receives Parkway weekly (and sometimes daily) prayer requests, please contact Tami Walker at .

  • Parkway prayer room

We have a room designated for prayer just to the side of the Welcome Center. The Bible says that we can pray anywhere but this room is set aside for you to seek the face of God anytime the church building is open.

  • Set-up/Support teams

Set up teams are needed weekly to prepare the gym and classrooms for Sunday morning. Because of the multi-use capabilities of our campus, rooms are used multiple times a week that require different set-ups. Some physical work involved here, great opportunity for men and their sons to serve together. Teams serve once a month on a rotating schedule. Contact Stan Harrison at for sign-up and other questions.

  • Communion Prep team

Communion (The Lord’s Supper) is a privilege to partake of as believers in Jesus Christ. Communion prep teams prepare the bread and juice for these observances. For more information please contact the church office at 639-2236 or email Mac Hutton .

  • Ushers

Another initial impression of a church is the moment they step into the worship area. Ushers can oftentimes make the difference between uncertainty and a sense of being right at home. Some practical duties of ushers are to hand out bulletins and help collect offerings. For more information please contact Steve Haasch at vahaaschfam@aol.com.

Serve on our Worship Ministry Team

  • Celebration Choir

The desire of Parkway’s Celebration Choir is to glorify God through song. The songs that we sing are biblical, uplifting, and convicting. The Celebration Choir rehearses every Wednesday night at Parkway and sings once or twice a month. If you would like more information contact Derek Futrell or Jonathan Braun

  • Worship Band

The Worship Band is comprised of people with varied gifts when it comes to musical instruments. The Worship Band seeks to glorify God through the music that they play. Rehearsals are every Monday night. The Worship Band plays every Sunday morning for all three services, with the exception of one Sunday a month when the Student Band plays. If you would like more information or an interview, please contact Derek Futrell

  • Praise Team

The Praise Teams are an extension of the Celebration Choir. They are comprised of people who live a life that honors the Lord. People who sing on the Praise Team must be a part of the Celebration Choir and must be members of Parkway Baptist Church. Praise Team members sing for a whole month (all three services) and are off two months. If you would like more information or an interview, please contact Derek Futrell

  • Technical Ministry

The Tech Team accomplishes all audio and visual needs at Parkway. They control the soundboard, the visual media players, and our presentation software. The technical ministry glorifies the Lord by enhancing sermons and services and by limiting distractions (whether audio or visual). Members of the technical ministry are utilized for all three services every Sunday morning, with the exception of when the Student Band plays. We also strongly encourage technical team members to come to Worship Band rehearsals. If you would like more information or an interview, please contact Derek Futrell

  • Video Ministry

Parkway Baptist Church is in the beginning stages of creating a video ministry. Our desire is to film and record all Sunday morning services, all special events held at Parkway, other outside events, interviews, etc. It is our desire to expand the ways we minister to people, and visual media already has a great impact on people in modern-day America. We would like to use this interest that many people have, and use it as a ministry to bring glory to the Lord. If you would like more information or an interview, please contact Derek Futrell

  • Producer

Parkway is in need of a producer – a person who would act as a liaison between what happens on stage and what happens behind the scenes. The producer would need to have a high level of knowledge in the area of audio and visual media, and be able to fix technical problems on the spot. This person would also be able to act as a “runner” between the Worship Teams and the Technical Teams. If you would like more information or an interview, please contact Derek Futrell
