Nations Next Door
Within the greater Richmond area there are extremely large populations of internationals. Some ministry opportunities include adopting a family, culture exchange meetings, conversation partners to learn English, adopting an international student, relationship building, and more. Feeding Ministry
Gather on the fourth Friday evening and Saturday morning of each month to prepare and distribute meals to the hungry in the Richmond area. Jesus said “As you have done it to the least of these my brethren, you have done it to me.” For more information please contact the church office at 639-2236 or email Mac Hutton .

Rock the Block
Families are challenged to take Vacation Bible School (VBS) to the streets in the summer, preferably their own neighborhood. We’ll provide the resources you need as well as train you. You can reach people that we may otherwise never see or meet. Contact Pastor Derek for specific dates and additional training info.

Sports outreach
Our sports outreach ministry is committed to introducing boys and girls to Jesus Christ through sports. Check out opportunities below to get involved in Parkway’s Upward sports outreach. Contact Wendy Morris or Tami Walker for more info or to volunteer.
Below are some specific ways to serve :
- Coach/Assistant Coach - men/women coaches are needed for basketball (Dec-Feb) and football (late August-October). Teams practice one night a week and play eight games on Saturdays.
- Scorekeeper - keeps score and time during football and/or basketball games. No prior experience needed.
- Referees - Are needed for flag football (Sept-Oct) and/or basketball (Jan-Feb). Some experience in the sport is helpful. Specific training will be provided.
- Concession workers - Help at the concession stand on Saturdays during our basketball season (Jan-Feb).
- Prayer partners - Pray for athletes, coaches, families and all aspects of this Christ-based league. A specific prayer strategy is implemented during the season.
- Devotions - Deliver the halftime devotion to parents during the basketball season (Jan-Feb)
- Game day announcers- Are you enthusiastic and like having a microphone in your hand? This job may be for you! Saturday announcers are needed to introduce players/coaches for both football and basketball.
- Upward Sports Prayer Warrior
Prayer warriors are needed to pray for our athletes, families, and coaches during our basketball and football seasons. Please contact Mac Hutton for more information.

Vacation Bible School
Is a targeted week-long children's ministry during the summer. The 2011 dates are July 25th-28th from 9:00am-Noon each morning. This year's theme will be 'Gold Rush- Discovering the Rock of Ages' Grab your bandana, dust off your boots, and get ready to mine for true gold. We’re headed to the Old West. Teachers and assistants are needed in the classroom, recreation, snacks, & crafts. Contact Graceann Ingram gingram@parkwayfamily.org

Local school partner
Parkway is privileged to partner with a local elementary school called Grange Hall. They are just down the road from our church and several classes still meet there for Bible study. Our desire is to serve the staff at Grange Hall by hosting teachers’ breakfasts and be available to serve them and show them the love of Christ any way that we can. Fall Festival/Easter Eggstravaganza
Join us for Parkway's Annual Eggstravaganza on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. There will be a Egg Hunt, Petting Zoo, Games, Food, and Candy. Please contact Wendy Morris at wmorris@parkwayfamily.org for more information.

Prison Fellowship Re-entry
Is a local ministry preparing ladies to re-enter society at the conclusion of their sentence. Volunteers and volunteer teams are needed in July/August to get lists from inmates so their families can participate in the upcoming Angel Tree Christmas distribution. Also needed are mentors , teachers (who teach the Bible to ladies about to be released), prayer teams , and care packages for ladies about to be released. .
