Core Classes

We recognize the primacy of God's Word in our lives.  It's the absolute source of truth and authority in our lives. At Parkway, we recognize the importance of learning God's truth AND the importance of God's people living in community.   It's not an either/or but a both/and.  Both are necessary for balanced Christian living.  At Parkway, we encourage you to participate in an ongoing Small Group and a Core class.

Core classes are study groups whose primary focus is theology and teaching.  Where small groups can be described as 'living rooms', core classes function more as 'classrooms'.  These classes are created to equip us to better Walk with Christ, Invite Others, and Serve Together.  These classes are offered throughout the year on a rotating basis on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday nights.

Current Core Classes

Sunday, November 3rd from 5:00pm-7:00pm
“Church Membership” - Led by Jeff & Stacey Jones - Discover more about God's call for Parkway as we live out His mission for us in Moseley and around the world.

“Christian Ethics” - Led by Pastor Jonathan - Applying biblical theology to every day living - more than just learning "what" we are supposed to do, we will dive into the “why”.

Wednesday, November 6, 13, and 20 from 6:30pm-8:00pm
“Walking with Christ in Marriage” - Led by Pastor Derek and Daniel Pendergrass - Strategies for growing in your relationship with each other as you walk with the Lord.

“Gospel Conversations 101” - Led by Pastor Mac, Jason Swoap, Wes Barbour - For over a year, we've been praying #giveme3, 3 gospel conversations a week.  That's easier said than done.  How do you go about having 3?  This 3-week class will discuss best practices and how to position yourself for these types of conversations.  If you're serious about #giveme3, this class will encourage and equip you.

“Can I Really Trust the Bible?” - Led by Adam Turley - This look at Apologetics addresses the question so many in our culture ask.  This 3-week core class will give a basic overview of what scholars call 'textual criticism' and the reasons why we believe the Bible is God’s Word.  Because we live in a culture where many don't believe or trust the Bible, this class will give you tools to address skeptics.
